Terrorism Message from the Police    27 November, 2015

Northamptonshire Police have been reviewing their response and security arrangements after the recent events in Paris.

Listed below are some bullet points to give guidance and reassurance to you and the communities you represent.

Northamptonshire Police is continuing to engage with local communities and businesses to provide reassurance, information and advice following the recent attacks in Paris and other parts of the world.

While the threat on the UK mainland has not changed, our officers and staff will be maintaining close links with local communities and businesses to provide advice and reassurance, and encourage vigilance.

Our Special Branch Counter Terrorism Advisers are working with local businesses and priority ‘crowded places’ – such as music, sport and entertainment venues, restaurants, hotels and shops – to help them ensure staff are trained to respond to incidents and plans are in place to protect sites, staff and the public.

Most importantly, we are urging people to be alert, not alarmed. Vigilant behaviour by the public can disrupt attack planning and we would encourage people to report any suspicious behaviour to the police, who are here to support you.

If you suspect it, report it – by contacting Northamptonshire Police directly on 101 or by calling the Anti-Terrorist Hotline on 0800 789 321.
