Hardingstone Parish Council are aware of the issues over the grass cutting at The Rec, and apologise that this has not been at a suitable standard.
We did have a contractor who was due to cut the grass to the end of 2016. Early in June he gave notice on this contract and left, with the grass in need of cutting. This is due to him having larger contracts that needed his time. Since then, the parish council have asked another contractor to cut the grass as a one-off. Due to the length, this had to be done manually as the tractor would not have been appropriate for the work at that point. Also, if he had cut too short too quick it would have been harmful to the grass. The length was taken down last week, and he will be out this week to cut the grass again.
Ongoing, the Parish Council will be awarding the contract to the end of the year at the meeting next week. We hope that this new contractor will be keen and keep on top of the work to make sure that the Rec stays nice and tidy for the rest of the summer.
